-contain spoiler for Aldnoah Zero 12-

I’m not going to defend Slaine or anything; he indeed grabbed one huge idiot ball . While some called his action just and totally consistent with his character, others felt like he was very stupid for helping the Count when he had already told him that he was dead set on killing the princess. For me, his action would be more acceptable, more justified if the writer decided to spend more screentime explaining his internal struggle to choose which side he should be on. Slaine was treated like shit most of the time by the smug face Martians and I refuse to believe that he actually wanted to protect the Count just because he was saved by some random Red shirt or he heard the Count saying something like I would end the cycle of hatred (quoting the princess here but was pretty hyprocryptic considering what he did). Yeah, more screentime on that; and Saucybum’s motivation for war should be more sympathetic, more reasonable (I’m not in the least moved by his back story, no reason Slaine should be, even if said story was about a woman or Martian’s suffering or whatever)

Also, please stop blaming Gen Urobochi on everything. From what I know, he only wrote the first 3 episodes and the rest was written by the Boku no Pico dude (no, really)

All in all, Aldnoah Zero’s writing was pretty bad. But I’ll stilll be tuning in for the second cour. It’s cruel to say this but I hope the princess and Inaho stay dead. It’d be more fun that way.

ok well… I don’t blame Slaine for what he did. He was at that moment emotionally unstable cause of seeing princess shot down, he remembered that Inaho, well bacically Inaho shot him first, it was Inaho who betrayed him there at the battlefield and Slaine could have died back then also remember what Inaho told him - he told him that they are using Asseylum and that really angered him [and now his words “stay away from Asseylum”] and well add a llittle bit of jelaousy [perhaps] and bah man, no wonder he shot him.

Actually IMO it was kinda realistic that he did. He is confused about… well the whole world - who is his enemy? who is his friend? on which side he should be on? Can you imagine him actually going to Inaho and “HEY I DON’T MIND YOU SHOT ME, AND YEAH I AM IN MARTIAN UNIFORM, AND YEAH I AM AN EARTHLING  BUT I KINDA LIVE ON MARS, LONG STORY. ALSO DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE THING YOU SAID, THAT YOU’RE USING HIME, LET’S BE FRIENDS”

Slaine was in terrible situation. Seeing Asseylum dead what he was supposed to do? At that time he was the enemy of everyone - he killed the count. On the other hand he was  perceived as a martian and Asseylum being dead/unconscious could not assure Inaho and others that he is a friend.

I am not saying that the thing he did was good. It was wrong, and well I grew to like Inaho… but Slaine had more reasons to do this that Inaho had back then.  And do not forget that Inaho was pointing his gun at Slaine too.

As for Asseylum being dead… I wouldn’t be so sure about it since the last words said that her whereabouts are unknown. Slaine probably took her somewhere and IDK. I know it looks pretty bad but still those words mean smth… <well maybe Slaine went mad and took her body somewhere and he is living with it ;P>

And Ihano? Well… he could be dead but then again if he’s dead and he was the mc then who is going to die at the true end of the series? also what second season is going to be about?

Aldnoah Zero: I like how

superchieftain:

everyone seems to have forgotten that Inaho shot down Slaine and left him for dead after Slaine saved their collective asses. Everyone seems to have forgotten that little fact.

It’s like they forgot that happened, and that Slaine was tortured because of Inaho, and because he was being tortured Saazbaum jumped the gun, killed Cruhteo and launched his assault on the Terran HQ which ultimately resulted in the supposed deaths of Asseylum, Saazbaum and Inaho.

I wish Inaho would stay dead, but it’s not likely to happen, and deep down all of us on #TeamSlaine know this is just a shock value tactic and that Slaine will end up the loser. Doesn’t matter much to me though. Slaine is still far more interesting than Inaho.
